This type of empowererment is so important for building self-esteem and resiliency. Although it is put out as a girl's guide, the messages are universal and brothers should be encouraged to read it also. I love this book. This guide is a must. I am always impressed by the quality of book and the timely topics handled by American Girl books. It teaches in an easy way all the fundamentals of handling money that a child should begin to learn by 9 or 10. And it even makes the youngster feel empowered by sharing many tips and ideas on starting one's own business.
Wonderful book. She is already making better choices (and saving more). My daughter read this book within two days. I can't believe how much it has made her aware of money and how to spend it (or not).
